giveaway // typewriter boneyard

This week I worked my last day at the cafe. "Why?" you might ask. Philip and I decided that my time would be better spent working from home. His lamps have been selling like crazy. He's having a hard time keeping up (especially with his full time job). We have a lot of big ideas for this upcoming year. Since we are basically out of time and energy for anything, we decided that it was time for change and slowing down. We are moving in the next few months, getting rid of a lot of our "things" (let me tell you, we have a lot), and trying to simplify the way that we do life. It's really exciting because it almost feels like starting from scratch, but without all of the scary unknowns.

Update: GIVEAWAY CLOSED

So I thought, "In honor of my new work situation and the new year, why not do a giveaway?" I also thought it should be a big one because this is a really exciting transition for us, Therefor, we're giving away one of our Hardback Book Lamps. Oh yes, it's true.

You can have up to 2 entries in this giveaway. One way to enter is to leave a comment telling me what you are excited about most for this new year. The second way you can enter is by following Philip on twitter and leave a comment letting me know that you did so.

We're so excited about what this new year will bring and are so grateful for the amazing support that we've had so far. Good luck to everyone in this giveaway and have a fun and safe new year's celebration!!!

-Chelsea

PLEASE NOTE: The bulb included in this giveaway is not the one pictured, but the standard squirrel cage bulb like the one pictured here. Still awesome, just different. Also, this giveaway is closed to international entries. However, to our lovely international friends and supporters, we will have more giveaways very very soon for you. I promise!

all in the details // christmas (part 1)

Here's our entryway as of last night. It was the final touches on our Christmas decor. I will share the rest of the house as soon as I get a moment to take decent pictures.

Francine practically lives in this window. She loves that white blanket and being up high, away from Patrick. Also, when I pick up the blankt to de-fur it, she follows me until I put it back. She's obsessed.

all in the details // christmas sneak peek

All of our Christmas decor is almost up. There are a lot of crates, twinkly lights, lavender, and fake snow. I'm excited to share it with you all, but I need to finish setting it up first. If you follow me on Instagram (thedaintywoods), you can see more pictures.

Random side note: Rue Magazine's Holiday issue came out today. There's a tour of Bri Emery's loft and an adorable video of their photo shoot. Grab a cup of coffee, curl up with a blanket, and get inspired.

loft inspiration // work space

1 // 2 // 3

Philip and I are looking at lofts for when our lease is up. We're really excited and are probably jumping the gun a little because our lease isn't up until March. That's ok, because we have fun looking.

We decided to look for a place that will really inspire us to work. That means great natural lighting, open layout, easy to clean floors (no carpet!!), bright walls, and a little brick wouldn't hurt either. (This place would be perfect, but probably won't be available in March).

We are planning on putting our full time and energy into Typewriter Boneyard starting at the beginning of next year. That means we need a proper work set up that includes a shipping area, computer desk space, and a work space that can get dirty. We've been sketching and planning all of this out and these three photos have been a big source of inspiration. Our favorite is the 1st one. We really like the idea of one huge desk that can be worked at from different sides.

What's important for you to be productive? Do you work better in pretty messes or in a neatly organized space?
