I added some spring inspired headbands into the shop.

quinoa.
After reading Krista's post and wanting nothing but healthy foods (that always happens after being sick), I've been craving quinoa like crazy. Then I found this cute little video on cooking it.
Easy, right?! I think this will be a good snack around 4:00 when I always seem to get hungry (I usually just eat something sugary).

Real Wedding.
A couple of our best friends got married this last December. I was so excited when Summer asked me to help make a few things for the wedding. I made the guys their boutonnieres and this little bird duo was their cake topper. Nathan is the photographer behind Ocean's Ink Photography (and the groom). He took these amazing photos for me. Aren't they lovely? You can see more of Nathan's work here.

Photo Shoot
A while ago, Becky from Limelife Photography contacted me about shooting product photos for me. I was thrilled when I read her e-mail and we immediately were sending messages back and fourth with tons of ideas. We decided to do something more simple. It's already gorgeous among the trees and the green, so we took my creations, the models, a few props and headed out to the "woods" behind our neighborhood. We had our lovely friends Emily and Joey be our models (aren't they a gorgeous couple?).
It was such a fun day! We couldn't have asked for better weather and everyone was so great to work with.
You can see more beautiful photos from the shoot on their blog.

inspire me
I'm in desperate need of inspiration today. I love these pictures and they're helping, but sometimes I need to see things in person. I like to feel textures and different materials. (I hate museums and galleries because you're not allowed to touch anything). I'm going to Anthropologie and Restoration Hardware for some pretty pick-me-ups.
I'll be back later with photos from a fun collaboration I got to be a part of. ♥

craft on tap
Hello! I'm sorry that I've been MIA. We had so much fun at the craft show but that night my tummy started feeling a little funny. The next 3 days, Philip and I were both sick in bed. We're still not feeling amazing, but Philip went to work today and I'm trying to get back to my routine.
♥
Thursday was Craft on Tap. Like I mentioned, it was my first craft show. It was so much fun! I got to share a table with Karina of Simply Clutch. She was so sweet and her clutches are gorgeous!
After the show, Philip and I walked around Balboa for a while (which we should really do more often).
It was such a fun night, and I can't wait to do more events like this.

welp...
This is my life right now: crafty messes, coffee, the space heater, and Hugh Grant movies (currently playing: Notting Hill). I'm getting ready for Craft on Tap! It's tonight (6-8:30) and I'm so excited! If you're in San Diego, I'd love to see you there :)
I hope you're enjoying your week. Philip has tomorrow off for good friday and I'm so happy to have a long weekend! We're having an Easter egg hunt at the in-laws house for our niece this Sunday. Any Easter plans for you?
I'll be back tomorrow with a few photos from our photo shoot! Can't wait to share.
PS... Am I too old to buy an Easter dress?

busy busy bee!
Well, hello. I hope you're having a lovely week. I have been very busy the past few days. I am getting ready for the Craft on Tap show at the Mingei International Museum in beautiful Balboa Park. I'm making hairpieces, cupcake stands, headbands, and cake toppers like a mad woman. This is going to be my first time selling at a local show and I am so excited! (and a little nervous...Shhh-don't tell anyone)
I have a few fun things to share with you but can't until I have all of my pretties ready to go for the show. Blogging is my reward :)
I did want you to know about a guest post I did for Blue Eyed Yonder. Right now, Krista is enjoying the gulf with her family and has some great guest posts lined up (I was flattered to be one of them). I shared a DIY on making your own faux mercury glass (like in the picture above). Visit her blog for the full tutorial.

weekend recap.
Highlights from our lovely weekend:
-The weather was absolutely gorgeous (it felt like summer)
-We did a photo shoot with Limelife Photo (so fun!)
-Visited with friends
-Did a lot of organizing
-Enjoyed a whole day in our neighborhood
-Spent a beautiful afternoon with both of our families (which meant lots of little ones)
Yesterday was our family gathering. It's very rare that we all can get together anymore. Everyone's so busy and we don't all live minutes from each other like when we were growing up. We almost had the entire family there, it was so much fun! ..and sort of strange at the same time.
My childhood memories consist mostly of the following: Sunny days in my grandparents' backyard enjoying the pool and barbecue with all of family (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents- everyone). No one lived more than 20 minutes away so we all got to grow up together. One the things that I am most most most grateful for is my family and these memories we have together. I always get the warm fuzzies when I think about these times :)
I remember when I was in middle school, I was telling my friends that my cousin was coming to our school. I had so many friends who said, "you know your cousin?" I thought they were crazy. They all said that they had cousins they had never met because they lived in different states and towns. I thought, who did you hang out with all of your life?
This was the strange part about yesterday: A few of us were enjoying the hot tub and had a view of the whole backyard. We were watching everyone visiting and so many little ones running and waddling around. My cousin and I were in agreement on how strange it was to be the adults now. We are now the ones who are watching these little ones grow up together.
...it was a good strange ♥
