all in the details // christmas (part 1)

Here's our entryway as of last night. It was the final touches on our Christmas decor. I will share the rest of the house as soon as I get a moment to take decent pictures.

Francine practically lives in this window. She loves that white blanket and being up high, away from Patrick. Also, when I pick up the blankt to de-fur it, she follows me until I put it back. She's obsessed.

all in the details // christmas sneak peek

All of our Christmas decor is almost up. There are a lot of crates, twinkly lights, lavender, and fake snow. I'm excited to share it with you all, but I need to finish setting it up first. If you follow me on Instagram (thedaintywoods), you can see more pictures.

Random side note: Rue Magazine's Holiday issue came out today. There's a tour of Bri Emery's loft and an adorable video of their photo shoot. Grab a cup of coffee, curl up with a blanket, and get inspired.

bits + pieces.

1. twine + spools.
2. miniatures + millinery.
3. sequins + stamps.
4. hair pretties + ribbon.
5. lovely fabric.

Last weekend was dedicated to cleaning and organizing. We did a lot of condensing and made a few trips to the Goodwill. I can't tell you how motivating it feels to create in an organized and more spacious work area. It's absolutely fantastic and I am so grateful that we got it done.

Also, I just love seeing collections of things. That box of miniatures, for example, makes me so happy I can't even describe it! Just seeing all of my materials together in one place is so inspiring. I have a million things I want to make! This is huge because I've been feeling very uninspired lately. Normally when I'm feeling that way, I tend to leave the house to find inspiration. Originally, this organizing spree was intended to make room for Philip's project. I had no idea that something inside the house could be so motivating for me to create. What do you usually do when you need a little inspiration?

all in the details.

Krista shared her gorgeous pantry makeover and it inspired me to share some details around my kitchen.

We have very limited cabinet space in our tiny kitchen. These shelves went up as soon as we painted the wall. I love open cabinets and seeing everything organized just so.

I realized that I unintentionally started collecting measuring cups along with salt and pepper shakers...oops. They're so cute, I can't help it.

I'm finishing up some projects, prepping for an event that I'm attending next week, and watching a lot of Friday Night Lights (my new favorite show). Later I'm heading to my brother and SIL's house for some friends, food, and maybe Harry Potter. I'm the only one in the world I think who isn't into Harry Potter, so I'm trying to convert. I'm really excited for tonight because I've been working at home all day. I don't think I talked to one person today and it's really getting to me. Yay for family! ♥

entry way progress.

My sister left for Germany yesterday. I already miss them terribly but I am so excited for her and Mary Jane to finally be together with Danny (and that his deployment is over!) The past few weeks had been leading up to yesterday. Family dinners, sleepovers, baby photo shoots, and a grand trip to LAX- basically any time that I could spend with Kaleigh and Mary Jane, I did.
With all of that said, I am terribly behind on work and creating. Today, I'm playing catch up. But you know how sometimes you start the most random projects at the worst times? Yeah, I did that this morning. See, I've been wanting to makeover our entry way for a while now. I have been looking for old ladders every time I'm in a thrift store. Of course, my amazing husband found one for me. We brought it home yesterday and I couldn't help but start setting it up today. Here's just a sneak peek of how it's coming a long. Hopefully it will be finished by tomorrow, so I can share more :)
