Made with love.

As mentioned earlier, my nieces birthday is coming up. We were supposed to have her party today at the park. However, the rain decided to join us this morning. Therefor the princess party will be postponed until tomorrow afternoon.
Here's a few things that I made for her...

Every little girl needs bows and hair ties.

I thrifted this GORGEOUS knit sweater earlier this week at Amvets near downtown. I was just chuffed to bits when I found it! (haha! I've been wanting to use that phrase ever since I learned it this week!) I could not believe the amazing color and how cute all of the pattern was! Now, when I found it, it was just the sweater. On our way home, the sweater and I, made a stop by Yardage Town for some fabric and buttons. Now it's the PERFECT sweater for the cutest little 3 year old I know.
I'm so excited for her party tomorrow. Her mama has been working really hard putting this all together. It's going to be lots of fun! And it's so much fun watching Skyla open her presents.

After making the hair pieces and sweater, I was inspired to make a Christmas ornament. Here it is! What do you think?! I'm debating making more like it. Also, what do you think about the rosette hair pieces? I think I'm going to make a lot of them for the shop, but would like some feedback before I do.

I hope you are enjoying your Halloween weekend. We have been so busy these past few weeks that we didn't really make any plans for tomorrow night. We're kind of bummed about it, but maybe it could be a date night

Are you dressing up this year?

Shop Update

Well hello there. I put up some new lamps in my shop today, and re-photographed some existing ones because the pictures were bad. Yes, Philip here, posting on the blog :) I've been ordering in bulk recently, trying to stock up for the upcoming (potential, not 100% confirmed) TV spot on HGTV the day after Thanksgiving. I'm pretty excited and scared... not sure what to expect.

On a different note, I'm trying to figure out how to build a proper light-box to shoot photos of our stuff indoors. The daylight is getting slimmer and slimmer... by the time I'm home from work, it's already gone! If you have an ideas, please let me know :)

Take a look... Tell a friend..

A special thank you to my co-worker Courtney for being so bored at work that she offered to cut out a few books for me!

Decorate me.

I LOVE jewelry, but I realized that I don't wear it very often. Rings, yes. I love BIG rings. Those are apart of my everyday wardrobe. I love necklaces of all sorts, but they don't make it out the door with me very often. I always find earrings that I like, but they never see to get worn either. Well, I still like looking at jewelry and buying every now and again. Maybe I should just make more of an effort. Here's some that have caught my eye lately...

we're back.

So many exciting things going on around here this week. It's just that were out of town and without Internet. Now I get to share them with you :)

I was so giddy tonight when I was visiting 100 layer cake and happened to spot one of my ring bearer book stacks!! Remember Kristen and Ben? Well, their GORGEOUS wedding was posted today. You should definitely check out the post. There's a lot of beautiful pictures. They did everything themselves, the location is just breath taking, and everyone looked fantastic!

Also, we wanted to say a huge thank you to Rebecca for posting about Philip's shop. She bought a lamp after one of her sweet readers sent her the link. The name of the book was Archer in Hollywood. Her sons name is Archer and they live up in LA, so it was a perfect fit :)

Speaking of lamps, Philip has some new pieces in the shop. There were more but they've been selling within hours of him listing them!

And lastly, one of my boutonierres was featured on Emmaline Bride this week. They did a woodland inspiration post and I got to be apart of it. Emma was sweet enough to invite me to be a featured artist for their site. They just recently had a make over and it looks great! Check them out for great wedding ideas!

We're adjusting to having to get back to our daily routine. Part of that for me is being consistent with the blog, which I'm slowly getting better at. Check back this week for shop updates and other exciting things. Good night.

Happy Sunday.

We drove home late last night from Nevada. I'm at work all day and am exhausted!!! I have a lot to post about and will hopefully get around to it soon. In the mean time, just wanted to stop by and say hello :)

My friend Cami sends me wonderful pictures and links that always seem to make my day. This is the one she sent for today. Too cute AND silly ♥

Sweet little find.

I am a big fan of any work that comes out of Studio Violet. This book is no exception. How cute are these pictures?! I want to buy this for a little person in my life.

Also, Chelsea posted the cutest DIY owl lady costume for one of Elsie's tricks and treats post today! So adorable! Maybe I want to change my Halloween idea??? We were going to be Mr. And Mrs. Fox from Wes Anderson's amazing film.

I've spent this morning recovering from our busy weekend. My poor husband, however, was back to work at 8am this morning. He was the HUGEST help all weekend as my mom, my grandma, and myself had so many demands, chores, decorating needs, and food/ drinks to be picked up. He hasn't really got much of a break these past few weeks. I hope he gets one soon. He MORE than deserves one...or 10.
I watched way too many movie trailers this morning instead of going through the shower pictures to post. Here's some that I am looking forward to seeing.

fabulously fall.

Have you looked through J Crew's Fall 2010 collection yet? You should. It's just lovely.

Anthropologie ♥

My friend Natasha came down to San Diego last weekend. She brought her lovely friend, Katrina, who I quickly learned is awesome just like she is :) One little problem though: Tash had never been to Anthro! We fixed that immediately!
I am usually in Anthropologie AT LEAST once a week. I could stand in there forever! Yes, I love everything they sell, of course. But their displays- TO DIE FOR! I am insanely inspired as soon as I walk in. My usual routine: I walk around the store very slowly looking at every display and touching everything. After I've soaked it all in, I sit on their little wooden chair they have outside their door and scribble down a TON of ideas! It's such a wonderful place.

I found THE PERFECT COUCH! I love this baby! I just thought the shape was so cute. It reminded me of Alyce in Wonderland. I knew it was outrageously expensive, but I was just curious. I asked the sales girl how much it was. "I'm not sure off the top of my head. I know it's more than $1,000". In my head, I heard: "a LITTLE over $1,000" which sounded pretty reasonable. Definitely got my hopes up for a few seconds because she quickly asked her supervisor who told me it was $3,999! NOT REASONABLE! It's ok, it was a fun spot for pictures.

I wasn't too surprised about the couch, I mean, come on- it's Anthro. I usually can't afford anything bigger than a mug. So I never go in expecting to buy something to buy unless I have a gift card. (In which case, the entire time the gift card is on me and I'm not inside an Anthropologie, I'm thinking of what I'll spend it on.)
I am always in love with their kitchen stuff, but never want/ think it's possible to buy a whole set of something, so I don't get too excited. But that night, I found this dining set on this gorgeously decorated table...

We didn't register for a dining set for our wedding. I was SUPER picky about all of them and never found one I liked at either of our registry stores. We actually ended up finding a super cute set at Marshall's that I love. The only problem: they're made very cheaply and the paint isn't holding up very well. You can always tell by how light those dishes are. They just aren't made well. A little over a year later, it's already time for a new set.
You can't tell in these pictures, but in the middle of the ink designs on the plates and bowls there's a mirror like finish. It's hard to explain but it makes it look so rustic and amazing! You can sort of see it in the bowl in the picture above.
I really really want this set! Seriously. I'm buying it. I decided that I'll buy it piece by piece when I have extra money from my sales or tips at work. Also, Christmas is coming up, so that works out pretty nicely. Doesn't it? :)

I had so much fun visiting and shopping with those girls! I was so happy that they decided to take their spontaneous road trip. Maybe I'll get to visit them soon so we can play in the Redwoods in Santa Cruz :)
