christmas wish list.

Christmas Wish List

Here's a few things that I would love to get for Christmas this year. (But let's face it, I'm not getting a watch that costs $200.) This is one of those outfits that I would wear everyday.

top.
beanie.
leggings.
watch.
shoes.
bag.
necklace.

all in the details // christmas (part 1)

Here's our entryway as of last night. It was the final touches on our Christmas decor. I will share the rest of the house as soon as I get a moment to take decent pictures.

Francine practically lives in this window. She loves that white blanket and being up high, away from Patrick. Also, when I pick up the blankt to de-fur it, she follows me until I put it back. She's obsessed.

all in the details // christmas sneak peek

All of our Christmas decor is almost up. There are a lot of crates, twinkly lights, lavender, and fake snow. I'm excited to share it with you all, but I need to finish setting it up first. If you follow me on Instagram (thedaintywoods), you can see more pictures.

Random side note: Rue Magazine's Holiday issue came out today. There's a tour of Bri Emery's loft and an adorable video of their photo shoot. Grab a cup of coffee, curl up with a blanket, and get inspired.

Hark the Herald

Jake and I recorded a new song last week. One of the best parts: our spouses joined us this time (and it's a Christmas song)! The four of us got together to write harmonies, arrange lyrics, and record this little something. It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again this week! We have a little performance in December and have lots of practicing to do. This one is free, so enjoy!

for christmas.

I found this print by Sandra Diekmann a while back and fell in love instantly. When I saw it on an iPhone case, I about died.

here to stay, is the new bird.

This was one of the first things I've made since re-opening the shop. I even photographed and listed it in the same day (That means I'm really excited)! I have a few more wreaths (I think about 5) that are already made. I hope to have time for taking pictures and adding more listings this weekend... For now, it's time to catch up on sleep.

getting inspired.

1 | 2 | 3 | 4

My sister-in-law and I are having a house show in December. I've been looking through photos and getting myself inspired as I plan out how my table will be set up and what I'll be creating. The first images are from my Pinterest board. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that the 2nd set of pictures is the wall above my desk.

I've been so focused on helping Philip this past month that I haven't been able to create much myself. I miss it and am flooded with ideas right now. I can't wait to get working!

christmas in july.

This past weekend Diane and I hosted our ridiculously early Christmas party. Normally we have one in October or November when it starts to get a little cold. This year, we just couldn't wait.

We decorated cookies, played some sort of beer pong, took family portraits, and watched Elf. It was amazing to celebrate Christmas with so many people. Our friends are fun :)

Better Late than Never.

Yes, Christmas is over, and yes, our decor is still up [it's as cheery as ever]. I hate taking Christmas decorations down. It's so sad.
A little birdie reminded me that I still needed to post these pictures. [Thanks, Krista- I need lots of reminders] ;)
This is just the little display I made in our living room. There are other details around the house that I'll get to later, but this was my favorite part.

Christmas Babies.

Christmas eve with my family was so much fun! The number one reason I keep telling everyone: there were so many babies! At least it felt like it. My family hasn't had all the wee ones together before now. [My sister just had her baby, so maybe that's why] ;) It was so much fun and [a little overwhelming.] First, I was playing with Curtis who is just standing up by himself and can crawl like you wouldn't believe. Then I was holding Jack who can't even sit up by himself. Then all of a sudden, I was holding Mary Jane, our littlest newborn. Once I had picked up Patrick, I started bouncing him and patting his back to burp him. It was so confusing! haha!
Curtis was very excited about Jack and Jack was very excited about Patrick :)

My grandma holding her first great grand daughter.

Mary Jane in her cute Christmas beanie. [Jack has one to match]

My mom with her "grand puppy".

This was Jack trying to fight the sleepy eyes.

Curtis loved the camera :)

My grandma, sister and Aunt Tammy with Jack and Mary Jane.
These are just a few pictures from Christmas Eve with my family. I'm hoping to get some from our Christmas dinner with Philip's family soon. We didn't take any pictures because our camera lens broke on the way into the house that day. bummer.

Hope you had a fun new years eve! I am hoping to post my accomplished goals from 2010 and my new goals for 2011 later tonight. We'll see how I feel after work :)

Hand-Me-Downs...from the cat

Yep! I bought this for Francine last year. It was meant to be worn by a small dog, so her arms didn't fit too well. Basically, when I put it on her, she'd try to walk and end up crawling. It was kind of sad, but really funny ;)
I couldn't find the darn thing for Christmas this year. Philip found it this morning and took this for me.
I just got home from work so I'm going to eat some lunch, then I'll be back later with those Christmas pictures. Do you have any new years eve plans?

Christmas photos

Need family photos for this holiday season? You should really hire a professional. We all know you're not that great with the camera. Why not hire someone who takes pictures like this?
Nathan is super talented (obviously) and so much fun to work with! Seriously. I know this from personal experience. We've been on tons of photo adventures with him and his lovely fiance over the past yr or so. He's great! He's in San Diego AND he's offering a special on holiday photos:

$125 will get you:
-a 2 hr session
-a disc of edited photos (about 45)

Do it.

Email: nathancolwell@hotmail.com
Need more convincing? Well that's silly, but I guess you could check out his blog.

    Happy December 1st!

It's December! YAY! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas!!!! Our house is feeling more festive everyday and there are so many fun things to craft/ bake!

Philip and I are getting ready to send some of our products to Make Good which is an awesome store in south park. It's a lovely shop that houses collections of different local artists. How great is that?! South Park is having their Walkabout this weekend. That means that today, I'm busy finishing up a few things to send into the store by tomorrow.
I rented a couple of movies to keep me company for the day. I've been listening to Christmas music non stop. One of my favorite Christmas CDs is The Hotel Cafe's "Winter Songs". Also, all of Sufjan's Christmas albums are a favorite in this house :) What are your favorits Christmas albums?

Well, I need to finish up all my little creations in time for tomorrow.
But I wanted to let you know to check this out! My friend and his buddy came up with the best idea! They're posting a new Christmas song everyday until Christmas! Yeah, he's pretty cool like that :) Thanks, Sean and John for spreading the Christmas cheer!

    Monday: We meet again

Well, that last week was crazy! How about for you guys? It was a good crazy though. We saw our family A LOT (which is always great), we had way too much food, faced the black friday crowds, watched HGTV's handmade special for Philip's lamps (!!!!), got our Christmas tree, did a lot of cleaning, and some major Christmas decorating! It was a great week, but that's why I haven't been around much lately. Remember I mentioned a giveaway? Well, I'm giving away this Christmas wreath! :)
Please forgive the bad picture. If I waited to take the pictures, upload and edit them, then this giveaway might not happen ;) That green and white object between the pinecones is a little bird.
Leave your name in a comment with your favorite Christmas tradition. (Can't believe December is almost here!!!! ) I will announce the winner this next Monday. Hope you enjoy today! It's cold here. Well, as cold as Southern California is going to be at the end of November. We still have sunshine :)

These lovely photos are inspiring a lot of my Christmas decor this year. There's more that I'll try and share throughout the week.
