hello there.

Here's a quick photo that Nathan took of me over the weekend. It's for a special something that I'll share soon. I just had to post one. His photos always look amazing!

How was your Monday? Mine went by really fast. I have a crazy week ahead of me (again). However, I am really excited about Thursday. I'll be at West Elm for Design*Sponge's book tour! I can't wait!!

finally

You may have noticed that things look a little different around here (neater, I hope). I have been wanting to give the blog a little face lift for a while. My html and photoshop skills are very very new and I'm still getting the hang of it all. I haven't taken any classes or anything. Basically, I call my husband at work anytime I don't know how to do something. I'm learning different hot keys and photoshop tricks over the phone on a daily basis. Therefor, my learning process has been slow, but one that I am eager to conquer.

I used different elements from three different sites for the design. Everything I used was free and came with multiple options (colors, patterns, textures, etc). Pugly Pixel has a lot of freebies on her site! That's where I found Fuzzimo and Mellow Mint as well. (Check out the links at the bottom of this post to get the same design elements)

I have been practicing with our camera too. I definitely have no desire to be a photographer (editing photos is one of my least favorite things to do) but I enjoy taking somewhat quality photos at family gatherings. These pictures are from Mother's Day weekend. There were so many to choose from, but here's just a few.

These two seem to be getting cuter and cuter every time I see them. Kaleigh and Mary Jane are leaving this next Wednesday for Germany. I can't believe it! We're all trying to see each other as much as we can before that happens. A long with that, I'm throwing a baby shower this Saturday. This is why it's been a little quiet around here lately. I'll share pictures of the shower once it's done. I'm making lots of little decorations that I'm' excited to share.

On a random note: I'm having a much needed girls night tonight. We got tickets to Eisley tonight! I can't wait! Hope you are enjoying your day. Tomorrow's Friday :)

Real Wedding.

A couple of our best friends got married this last December. I was so excited when Summer asked me to help make a few things for the wedding. I made the guys their boutonnieres and this little bird duo was their cake topper. Nathan is the photographer behind Ocean's Ink Photography (and the groom). He took these amazing photos for me. Aren't they lovely? You can see more of Nathan's work here.

Christmas photos

Need family photos for this holiday season? You should really hire a professional. We all know you're not that great with the camera. Why not hire someone who takes pictures like this?
Nathan is super talented (obviously) and so much fun to work with! Seriously. I know this from personal experience. We've been on tons of photo adventures with him and his lovely fiance over the past yr or so. He's great! He's in San Diego AND he's offering a special on holiday photos:

$125 will get you:
-a 2 hr session
-a disc of edited photos (about 45)

Do it.

Email: nathancolwell@hotmail.com
Need more convincing? Well that's silly, but I guess you could check out his blog.

    Fresh.

Like I've said before, I've been a little bored with photography. I feel like it's all looking the same ( well, as long as we're talking about wedding photography). So when i see a talented photographer with a great eye and editing skills, I'm very happy. Luckily, I personally know someone who fits into that category :) He's marrying one of my best friends and he's awesome! Everytime i see new pictures that he's taken, I'm blown away! Today was one of those days.

Nathan and Summer headed down our way last night to hang out. It was lots if fun! We went to the zoo and then had dinner at chipotle (Margarita Mondays! ). Everyone had a camera (except me of course) and were taking pictures left and right. Nathan posted some of his pictures on his blog today and they made me soooooo happy!!! They look so beautiful! See for yourself :)

This is his beautiful fiancé, Summer.
