Monday: We meet again

Well, that last week was crazy! How about for you guys? It was a good crazy though. We saw our family A LOT (which is always great), we had way too much food, faced the black friday crowds, watched HGTV's handmade special for Philip's lamps (!!!!), got our Christmas tree, did a lot of cleaning, and some major Christmas decorating! It was a great week, but that's why I haven't been around much lately. Remember I mentioned a giveaway? Well, I'm giving away this Christmas wreath! :)
Please forgive the bad picture. If I waited to take the pictures, upload and edit them, then this giveaway might not happen ;) That green and white object between the pinecones is a little bird.
Leave your name in a comment with your favorite Christmas tradition. (Can't believe December is almost here!!!! ) I will announce the winner this next Monday. Hope you enjoy today! It's cold here. Well, as cold as Southern California is going to be at the end of November. We still have sunshine :)

  1. When Chris and I got married, we started a tradition of cutting off the bottom of our tree once Christmas is over and marking the wood disk with the year. We plan to do something cool with the wood disks in time. I think it will be neat to look back and see how our trees sizes grow (or shrink). Just a wee reminder of Christmases gone by.

  4. Hmm favorite Christmas tradition,... decorating the tree while sipping champagne is definitely near the top. Also I've got a pot of Christmas tea that my sister and I share on Christmas morning... and of course my dad's mashed potatoes. Definitely a tradition!

  5. Wow! Philip's lamps on HGTV!! Congratulations.

My favorite (past) Christmas tradition was waking up with my sisters at 3am and sneaking out to see all the presents in the living room. I hope my kid(s) will have as much fun as we did:)

  6. My favorite Christmas tradition, would be going to midnight mass with my family as a child and then getting home and eating a Guam Christmas treat "BONELOS DAGU" its a little unsweetened yam fritter that we dipped in maple syrup. For a midnight meal.

As an adult, my faith is my strength and this tradition still lives strong in our household! Even though I am 10000 miles from home I still make the Bonelos and we still go to mass at midnight. Except now I get to hear my childrens' voices fill the church.

I miss working with you Mrs. Hansen :D

  7. My favorite Christmas tradition would be making tons and tons of Christmas cookies with my mom, sisters, friends, grandma, and family friend! We always bake every year and more specifically, the amount of people we have in the kitchen grows every year and we end up having flour fights! I love getting together with my family and friends to bake tons of cookies and set aside a day where all we do is bake and bake!

  8. Great giveaway Chelsea! I have so many favorite Christmas traditions...one of the most memorable is making/decorating sequin trees every year out of styrofoam cones, sequins, and pins with my mom. Also baking and decorating cookies with my mom. :)

  9. What a beautiful wreath! My favorite Christmas tradition is crafting up a storm with my little girls. We spend all of December making all kinds of ornaments and decorations, cookies, presents, wrapping paper, etc. It is so so fun!

  11. Krista,

I love that idea/tradition! I wish I was manly and had a chainsaw to cut 'tree trunk ornaments!' :)

  12. I love that tradition too!! We just got our first tree tonight, and I love it!

My favorite Christmas Tradition is one in the recent years: We started "decorating" our tree by balling up wrapping paper and throwing it into the tree! they little "ornaments" stick in the trees and are really festive! We also have a competition to see who can get their ball at the highest point of the tree, and that person wins! (If one gets high up, we all try to knock it down ASAP)

Little known fact: the tradition started about three years ago when I (the youngest and only girl) sat next to the tree for opening presents. My two older brothers were just throwing the paper balls at ME, and when one rickashayed onto the tree that the Tradition began :) oh brothers!

Merry Christmas!! I love this wreath!

  13. Every Christmas morning growing up we would have a birthday cake for Jesus that my mom would bake the day before... even though me and my sister are grown up and married we all spend the night or come over on Christmas morning to open presents and eat some birthday cake!

  15. Hi! Our fave tradition is taken from my fiance's family's traditions: we give each other a new, special ornament every year, which is based after the things that happened that year (for example, the FH just bought a dobro, so I'm getting him a dobro ornament!)
    Thanks! Olivia
    PS. We're doing a giveaway, too! http://www.lovelyatyourside.com/2010/11/augment-by-maud-designs-necklace.html
