anyone else?

San Diego winters are confusing (I'm actually not convinced that winter is real). We had a lot of sunny Christmas days and the same has been true for January. It normally gets a little colder during February, but with all of this sunny weather, I don't know how I feel about that.  I'm already dreaming about the smell of jasmine, fresh raspberries, and days spent poolside with friends and mimosas. Am I allowed to be craving this when I haven't experienced much winter this year? I'm going to go with yes.

details.

I had an event to go to last night, so I decided to make myself a little broach for my outfit. I really like how it turned out and I'm thinking about making some for the shop (minus the poor quality fabric of the pink one). What do you think?

Tomorrow, I'll share a full what I wore post and details of this lovely event. Hope you are having a good week. Tomorrow's Friday!

macha has stolen my heart.

I can't get enough of this jewelry. Everything Macha makes is just to die for! If I didn't already have a wedding ring, I would seriously consider anything from the Rockwell line. It's such a great twist on the traditional wedding rings. Bernice Kelly is a genius!

Shop Update

Cami's Flower Broach/ Hairpiece in Saucy Red. I made this for one of my closest friends and hair stylist, Cami. Of course, I had to name it after her...and yes, she's saucy :)

Emily's Bow Tie Necklace. I had this necklace listed in the shop before. I felt that it needed a new name and some decent pictures. I'm not sure why, but it reminded me of my friend, Emily and something that she might wear. Maybe it was just because I was thinking about how much I miss her :)

Golden Velvet Hair Bow. It's attached to a barrette so that you can snap it in your hair easily. I think that I wear bows in my hair more than anything (and the bigger, the better). I wear them styled like in the photo here, below the backside of a messy bun, or just above my fancy pony tail.

summer hair.

I'm probably the last person that should be sharing hair advice. However, that's what might make these styles even better. If I can do these, you can do it too.
Joanna Goddard posts great hair tutorials that anyone can do. I thought that these are great ideas for spring and summer. They would work great for a day at the beach, a sunny bike ride, or just lounging around in a cute dress.

.............................................................................................................................
When I was working at Starbucks, I had to wear my hair out of my face. When I woke up early enough to do my hair and makeup, I usually rocked this pony tail. It's very easy to do and I always got lots of compliments.

Accessory tip: wear a big bow right above the pony tail to cover up the bobby pins.

I love a messy bun. This style is perfect for when you're running out the door and need to do something quick and cute.

Accessory tip: You can wear an oversized bow on the back of your head right below the bun (like the bun is sitting on top of the bow). Another idea is to pin a smaller bow or flower on the side of the bun.

Maiden braids are really fun and they keep your hair out of your face. My experience is that when you braid your hair, pull apart the braid a little, making it slightly loose. If you have thick hair, you probably don't have to worry about that.

Accessory tip: Try braiding a pretty strip of fabric or piece of yarn with your hair to add a little extra something.
