I know it's been a little quiet around here. We had a tough weekend. Everything's ok and we're back to normal :) I'll share later about the past few days.
In the meantime, here's a few things to share with you:

There's a nifty little tutorial on DS this morning on how to make your own faux firelogs. I made a few to incorporate into our christmas decor this year. However, I was unaware of the fact that single-faced corrugated cardboard existed. I was tearing the outer layer of the cardboard off to expose the inside of it. Learn something new everyday.

Fresh and Easy makes the creamiest ice cream I've ever bought from the grocery store! I could not stop eating it! I even packed some for myself to take to the movie this weekend :)

Philip has some lamps in the shop. A few book lamps and [a first] a drift wood lamp. They're pretty swell.

Speaking of swell- we just started watching Mad Men and I'm in love with all the design and costume behind it. Not so stoked on all the cheating, but it's a drama, what should I expect?

Jenny Lewis, Johnny Cash, She & Him, Edward Sharpe, Lissie, Rachel Yamagata, and Regina singing "Hallelujah". I made this playlist and can't turn it off. Enjoy.

I'm finishing some cupcake toppers for the shop today. I'll share once they're done ♥

Dream Home

My dream house has brick walls, cement and wood floors, and old windows. I love the dark industrial look as the base of these homes. You can add so many pretty contrasting things that look amazing- soft colors, light curtains, etc.

DIY

I'm a huge DIY fan. My husband and I love taking old things and giving them a second chance or recreating something we love at a more affordable price. Here are some great DIY projects that i'd love to complete.

This pretty and functional shelf edging from design*sponge

These spool hooks are definitely making their way to my wall hopefully in the next week or so.

Philip and I have been planning on replacing our dresser (which we never use) with a rustic looking garment rack. We won't be painting ours though. We like the look of the galvanized pipe and the wood. I'm also going to make a piece for the end if our bed made of the same materials (instead of buying a bench or trunk)

Cute cupcake stands! I'm hoping that this little project will get finished tonight. Today, I bought my stands and I've had some plates just waiting for me to get round to doing this.

I was catching up on my blogs and websites this morning and wandered around design*sponge for a while. I haven't been online much this past weekend so I had a lot to catch up on.
First, I noticed that they were taking a poll for their book tour. Where do you want them to go and what do you want to happen once they get there? San Diego wasn't on their list! I was sad. La and San Fran were, so I voted for them and Seattle. That would be a great excuse to finally see Seattle :) You should vote on that one.
Next I saw this amazing sneak peak! Lauren Bradshaw [who makes cute little bird cake toppers] was sharing her house. It was so amazing that I had to share it here

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS LIVING ROOM!!!!

If I had to chose an exact replica for a room in our house I would definitely go with this living room! There's usually something I would want to change when I look at pics from someone else's house and imagine it in my own. Not this one. I LOVE the floors, rug, brick fireplace with the mirror and globe, the couches, coffee table, the colors. Love it all!

I like the brick in this bathroom for sure

Don't you want to create here? I DO!

I really like the dresser in their bedroom and the color scheme she picked out.

Bright kitchens make me happy

Oh, this dining room- the chairs, table, the rug..Have I over used the word 'love' yet?

I really like the details of her nursery, the little decorations, etc. However, I'm not a huge fan of how dark the walls are. Especially for a nursery. Other than that, don't you think it's adorable?
