A Morning Walk

We're back from San Francisco and getting back into work life. Bleh.
Our little vacation was so much fun. I'm so grateful that Philip planned this trip. I really enjoyed my birthday and time away with him. I'm still sorting through pictures to share.

These pictures are from one of our Sunday morning walks. We live in the city so we really enjoy the trails around Balboa Park. This is where we usually go with Patrick.

Weekend Recap.

We had a great weekend! On Saturday, we slept in and Philip made me breakfast! We ate outside, enjoyed our coffee and dreamt up big things. Soon after, we took Patrick on a long walk and explored the trails around Balboa Park. It was such a great day!

Yesterday, we headed up to Carlsbad to our friends' house and enjoyed the afternoon with them. I was so bummed at the end of the day when I realized that I forgot to take any pictures. I wish I had because the Moyer's have the cutest house! Tyler and Katie have awesome taste and their home was such a cozy place to enjoy our afternoon. I'll definitely have to visit again and take pictures for you.
I did steal this picture from Kaitie's facebook of their sweet Jolene. Isn't she pretty? She's the softest kitty I've ever held!

We all walked to the Carlsbad Antique Mall and I found the perfect shelf for all of my fabric. I was so happy my husband let me bring it home.

Then this morning, I had a lovely lovely breakfast with a sweet friend and it was the best way to start my week. I think it's going to be a good one :)

Sunday.

The weather here in San Diego has been absolutely gorgeous the past week! We went to the beach yesterday and it made me want summer to get here so badly.

Today we had brunch in Point Loma after church. It was lovely. We ate here.
After brunch, we came home and have been very productive ever since. Cleaning, picture taking, shop preparation, etc. I am actually in the middle of updating my shop and prepping dinner at the same time. I wanted a quick break to say hello.

The picture above is my reward for all the pictures I took today. I love that I need cupcakes as props for my pictures. I always love having excuse to visit Babycakes. ♥

Sundays.

This weekend was a good one, but a busy one. I took a few pictures here and there. I'm still trying to get better at that.

We visited Jake, Nat, and Jack! Philip finally got to meet his nephew AND hold a new born for the first time!

We're not sure ow Jack feels about his uncle yet ;)

He's so cute and cuddly! I just love that little face!

On Sunday, we went for a walk to Filter. The first thing we always see when we leave our driveway is our neighbor's dog Hugo. He's so Cute! He usually jumps about 4 feet in the air when he sees us.

After Filter, we tought it would be a good idea to go to one of our favorite thrift stores sine it was right there. We spent almost an hour in their book sections looking for books for our projects. All of a sudden, we realized that we were walking home. So we didn't get TOO many....but we did find a lot ;)

I found the COOLEST book while we were there! It is a french book that was printed in the late 50's. It's in pretty good condition. It's so sweet because it has the BEST illustrations!!! My favorite was definitely this first guy who I think is just refered to as "The Moustache"

That's what I love about Sundays.

Yes, I DID just quote a country song. Don't judge- It's such a happy song!
I'm going to try and make this a weekly post. I have Sundays off of work, so that's my only full day off with Philip. We try to reserve that day for just the two of us. It's also a good excuse for me to take more pictures and blog about my life (not just things I find online).

Yesterday, I went to Thread with Kaitlyn. I am sad to say that neither one of us took any pictures (ooh...bad bloggers). We did have loads of fun though. As soon as we got there, we talked about buying things for other people. Kaitlyn managed to do just that AND talk me into buying things for myself. It's not her fault though, I'm easy to convince ;)

After a day of eating and shopping, Philip and I had he rest of the day together. Now, I know it's technically fall, but we are in San Diego. This is a city that loves to skip summer, go straight into fall, and get everyone all upset that we didn't get our beach time. Then once everyone gets cozy and ready for the fall weather, here comes the santa anas! Yep, it's blazing hot here this weekend! Hotter than any summer day we had this year, that's for sure. It's kind of scary- we usually have fires all over the county during September and October.
Anyway, with the heat, Philip and I decided it would be a good idea to go on a walk. (Our house feels like an oven right now and we dont have AC). We walked around Hillcrest for a while, then decided to go to the Tractor Room for a drink and appetizer before his show.

We had never been there and really enjoyed it. The food was good and the drinks were STRONG! yikes! good thing we were walking ;) We each just had one and decided to stop there. haha.

We walked home and expected to get ready for the Longstay show that night, but it didn't work out. That's ok! We spent the rest of the night crafting and watching Modern Family (our new favorite show!)

I started AND finished something all in one sitting...AMAZING!
